Students and staff of Diakonia Training Institute had the privilege of being hosted by Tone la Maji Children’s Home in Ongata Rongai. As part of our CSR imitative, the college donated foostuff and clothing to the centre. Tone la Maji plays a key role in the rescue, rehabilitation and re-socialization of young boys around Nairobi and its environs.
Our students, especially those undertaking Social Work course, had the opportunity to gain invaluable skills in their area of study. Besides interacting with the children, Diakonia team played a friendly football match in which we lost 4 -2 to the host.
We would like to thank Tone la maji team for hosting us and creating memories that the institute will always reminisce with fondness. The institute is not only committed to academic excellence, but also interacting with communities and giving first-hand experiences to the professionals learning with us.
